At the National Conference on Clinical Hematology and Transfusion Medicine our company was present with a promotional booth and a presentation by Dr. Behrouz Mansouri. Internationally recognized expert, Dr. Behrouz Mansouri was the special guest of CLINI-LAB at the Romanian Society of Hematology event.
Dr. Behrouz Mansouri, Primary Physician, University Clinic of Hematology and Central Hematology Laboratory, Inselspital Bern, Switzerland, headed the Unit of Transfusion Medicine and Therapeutic Apheresis of the medical institution and was Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service of the Swiss Red Cross.
At the CLINI-LAB Symposium, Dr. Behrouz Mansouri, gave the lecture "Clinical efficacy & safety of pathogen reduced platelet concentrates". The topic was the inactivation of pathogens in blood products - the inactivation of pathogens, viruses and bacteria, in donated blood. The doctor also explained the background and the reasons for the switch in the Swiss medical system to the use of inactivated blood products with the Intercept technique, developed and marketed by Cerus Corp.
